We are deeply honoured and delighted that the EU Commission has elected the leading expert in understanding the critical role evolutionary biology and complexity plays in medical research – Dr Ray Greek, president of Americans and Europeans for Medical Advancement AFMA/EFMA) – to represent the historic Stop Vivisection to Save Human Lives initiative on 11th May, at the EU Parliament. This unique moment in time has been made possible by over a million EU citizens who have submitted their personal details – including passport numbers, IDs, postal addresses and birth dates – in order to sign a formal petition calling for the scientific remit of the EU Directive 2010/63/EU to be overhauled by current medical knowledge. The citizens specifically call for the current EU Directive to be abrogated and instead make compulsory the use – in biomedical and toxicological research – of data which is directly relevant for the human species.
The hearing will be broadcast live on Monday 11th May, from 3pm – 6.30pm, at the EU Parliament. There are 3 parts to the hearing:
1. Ray Greek MD will testify about current medical knowledge and the vital, life saving significance Trans-Species Modeling Theory has for patients who urgently need valid medical research which applies to them – personally – not to a mouse, cat, dog or a monkey. This will be followed by a Q&A.
2. An EU scientist who still persists in claiming animal experimentation is needed for human medical advancement, followed by a Q&A.
3. An EU representative for animal welfare, followed by a Q&A.
