Fiona Godlee, Editor in Chief at the British Medical Journal, published her EDITORS CHOICE on 5th June, entitled How Predictive and Productive is Animal Research? Fiona Godlee highlights a paper entitled Is animal research sufficiently evidence based to be a cornerstone of biomedical research? which concludes ” if research conducted on animals continues to be unable to reasonably predict what can be expected in humans, the public’s continuing endorsement and funding of preclinical animal research seems misplaced”.
